The third studio album from the Minutemen.

The title refers to doing the speed limit (55 mph) on the number 10 freeway and was reaction to Sammy Hagar song, "I Can't Drive 55", which protested the federally imposed speed limit of 55 miles per hour on all U.S. highways.

The cover features Mike Watt driving exactly 55mph ("double nickels" in trucker slang) on the Interstate 10 ("The Dime" in trucker slang).
